Robust Sheet Metal Fabrication to Optimize Performance
At Boyd, we leverage our expertise in sheet metal manufacturing to enhance the performance of integrated cooling chassis, heat sinks, liquid systems, machined components, and thermal accessories.Sheet Metal Fabrication: From Punching to Assembly
Boyd uses sheet metal to fabricate thermally conductive enclosures and chassis, heat sinks, and liquid system components. We manufacture single stamped metal thermal conductors, bent metal thermally conductive components, and complex sheet metal assemblies with integrated advanced liquid or air cooling technologies. Our Trumpf press, equipped with specialized tooling, punches flat layouts, taps holes, and forms small features, adding versatility to traditional punching operations. We use brakes to bend sheet metal into various geometries, creating thermal components that serve as standalone conductors or integrate into larger liquid or air cooling assemblies.

We use metal joining processes like dip brazing and welding or shrouds on epoxy-bonded chassis to create more complex thermal assemblies with integrated functionality. This comprehensive capability enables us to deliver robust, customizable thermal solutions that meet precise customer specifications and ensure optimal protection and performance across industries.
Precision Fin Fabrication with Custom Enclosures
Boyd enhances heat sink performance with custom metal enclosures and cooling fin shapes. Our Trumpf press enables us to produce unique thermally conductive fin shapes and scale production efficiently, offering more flexibility than traditional progressive die stamping machines. This press facilitates both high-volume production and quick, cost-effective prototypes without the need for complex dies. By leveraging standard and custom tooling, we design and manufacture a variety of cooling fin configurations to customize bonded fin assemblies that boost thermal management and overall heat sink performance.
Robust Thermally Conductive Housings that Optimize Cooling
Boyd leverages its sheet metal expertise to design and build durable housings and enclosures for our liquid cooling systems. Although sheet metal is less commonly used for direct fluid flow geometries, it plays a crucial role in constructing the larger enclosures that house these systems. By utilizing sheet metal, we create robust and precise enclosures that protect and integrate liquid cooling systems effectively. This approach ensures the reliable performance and stability of the cooling systems, merging our expertise in chassis and enclosure manufacturing with advanced liquid cooling solutions.
