The Boyd SmartCFD User Interface

The central window of Boyd SmartCFD is the 3D Model View, where you can view and manipulate the visual representation of your CFD model. Each object, including the domain, has a basic (X, Y, Z) position relative to the origin of the global coordinate system. The Main Menu and Toolbar has basic file navigation functions as well as key shortcuts for common processes and viewing angles. Hovering over each icon will indicate the action behind each process.

The Project Manager is a hierarchical outline-based representation of all the objects that make up an Boyd SmartCFD file. This features acts as the primary interface for defining and managing the project. The Project Manager, located on the left of the screen, organizes all the settings, objects, components, libraries, and solutions for the project. This is an expandable menu of the project where you disable, hide, replace, or duplicate any components within the project. Selecting objects within the Project Manager activates the Property Panel for that object, which is displayed on the right side of the window.

Property Panel lists out the properties of an object selected in the Project Manager or in the 3D Model Window. The Property Panel, typically docked on the right side of the Boyd SmartCFD window, is where you can change a wide range of characteristics for an object.

Boyd SmartCFD enables you to quickly add all components for a CFD model with the use of the Component Toolbar. The Component Toolbar is comprised with a series of icons representing all the objects you can add into the simulation model.

The Geometric Operations Toolbar contains key shortcuts for advanced positioning and model manipulation. Hovering over each icon will indicate the action behind each process.
