Heat Exchanger Recores
Retrofit to decrease system replacement costs
Minimize system downtime for maintenance & replacement
Greater thermal system performance efficiency
for EOL Systems
Heat Exchanger Recore or Core Replacements can either extend the life or performance of existing thermal management systems. Heat exchanger (HeX) and radiator systems installed in various industrial applications, energy processing, power generation, aerospace, defense and transportation industries are sources for efficiency improvements as technology evolves over time. Increases in thermal system efficiency can translate to greater energy efficiency, increased production, better yield and resource utilization as well as weight and cost savings. Retrofitting installed heat exchangers with new heat exchanger cores is a cost, time, and resource efficient way to boost thermal system performance and efficiency. Maintenance and retrofit of existing installed systems provide a scalable, lower cost alternative to replacing entire thermal systems.
Boyd’s specialty Thermal Division, Aavid, has decades of experience manufacturing heat exchanger core replacements for many industries that require components with high reliability and quality for maximum system uptime and minimal maintenance.
For older systems where OEMs and original system manufacturers no longer support, have ended spare availability, replacement parts are EOL, or original drawings and specifications are not available, Boyd offers reverse engineering design solutions to create custom drawings that enable new production of out-of-date retrofit components.
Specific applications include:
- Stainless steel heat exchanger cores for Power Generation
- Aluminum heat exchanger cores for Aerospace & Aviation
- Aluminum heat exchanger cores for Defense
- Copper or Copper nickel heat exchanger cores for specialty applications
While Boyd supports a broad range of Heat Exchanger Core Replacement applications, we specialize in commercial, military, and general aviation aircraft. Utilizing approved data and procedures, we collaborate with FAA/EASA certified repair stations for Aerospace Aftermarket Heat Exchanger Recore Support.
